Jason Sidor graduated from Hendrix College in 2004 with a B.A. in Studio Art. While at Hendrix, he regularly submitted art to the Aonian and served as a professor’s assistant in the Art Department. Off-campus, he participated in the Arkansas Young Artist Association’s juried shows and apprenticed with Classique Expressions in Conway, Arkansas. Classique Expressions provides custom art and decorative design services for both living and business spaces.

After graduation, Sidor worked as a Graphic Designer and Bulk Buyer for Whole Foods Market. In 2011, he graduated from Bismarck State College with an associate’s degree in Electrical Transmission System Technology. Sidor now works as a System Operator for Black Hills Power in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Sidor’s work explores the reflective aspects of glass and metal, particularly their propensity for distortion. He believes that these surfaces transform paintings into abstraction, even when done in a realistic style. Overall, Sidor hopes that his art “challenges the way our minds organize shapes into identifiable objects.”
