Darcy Wilkins graduated in 2011 with an Anthropology major and Studio Art minor. While at Hendrix, she published art in the Aonian and took courses in freehand drawing, sculpture, and photography. She now works as a production coordinator, generating television content for National Geographic Studios. Her team primarily edits preexisting material into new content, but periodically shoots updated or new material. Wilkins – who fantasized about working for National Geographic growing up – says this position is her dream job. She loves getting to entwine science and creativity.

When National Geographic recently removed single-use plastics from company workspaces, the Studio provided each employee with a black mug. To help her colleagues avoid mixing up the identical cups, Wilkins personalized their mugs with animals intricately drawn in paint pen. After learning she could draw, Wilkins’s coworkers asked her to make the trophy for their annual company bowling tournament. She painted Pinguin as the coveted “Spirit Award,” which now resides on the desk of the winning team leader.
